And the final scene is arguably the best scene in the entire film. As the camera zooms out, viewers get a stunning visual perspective, one of the best such perspectives I have ever seen in any film.
An unimaginative and at times silly plot renders the story somewhat tiresome and tedious. But this is partially offset by terrific visuals, the most impressive of which is right at the very end.

Unii care au trait in realitate asemenea drame au ajuns la canibalism doar pentru a supravietuii. Niciodata sa nu spui niciodata!!!
Bun , imi place sa este o atmosfera de tensiune si nu stii la ce sa te astepti in urmatoare secunda! Finalul este unul foarte reusit!

Edit Did You Know? Trivia The rough cut of the film was 1 hour 44 minutes long. After Schrader showed Steven Soderbergh the rough cut of the film, Soderbergh offered to create a different version within three days.
Schrader declined, telling The New York Times: "The idea of 72 hours is a joke, it would take him 72 hours to look at all the footage.
And you know what Soderbergh would do if another director offered to cut his film? It's an hour 30, and it seems like it's three hours long.

Thus the shots of Reid indulging in masturbation had to go, since they were unsimulated, unlike the other sexual content shown in the film.
